What has become the norm for the Boston Marathon again happened this year. A driving rain, strong winds and windchill only hampered the winning times at Boston this year. What was unusual this year was the fact that neither race was won by someone who began their running career in North Africa. The women’s winner was a veteran American who has been near the top for several years but could not pull out a win. The male winner came from Japan. I am sure that the weather aided these two winners more than the Africans who like heat with calm conditions.
