A three-time all-Southland performer (Cross Country 2016 and 2018; Steeplechase 2018), Martinez was also a member of the league’s all-Academic Track and Field and Cross Country teams in 2018. The New Braunfels, Texas, native also earned selection to the Southland’s Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll from the Fall 2015 semester through the Spring of 2019. Martinez also earned designation on the UIW Dean’s List from the Spring 2016 through Spring 2019. As a student, she served as a Development and Sponsorship Assistant in the UIW Athletic Department. Prior to that she was involved with marketing and development planning with Incarnate Word’s Student Engagement Center during the 2017-18 academic year. Martinez was an active student participant in UIW’s chapter of the American Marketing Association and served as the women’s distance team captain on UIW’s Track and Field Leadership Committee.
