Kazi SohelOpposition political party BNP has announced to stage nationwide demonstrations on Friday demanding an end to Rohinyga persecution and shelter for them in Bangladesh.Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) senior joint secretary general and office secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the announcement while speaking at a prayer session at Kolakopa in Nawabganj of Dhaka on Wednesday.Read more: 11 boats capsize in Naaf estuary; 5 bodies recoveredLocal BNP organised the prayer session on the premises of BNP’s Dhaka district unit general secretary Abu Ashfaq’s house, marking the 10th anniversary of the release from jail of BNP’s self-exiled senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman.“Thousands of Rohingya Muslim men and women are being repressed everyday. The Bangladesh government, however, remains silent even after watching this barbarity. As a Muslim nation, lodging no protest is a heinous act,” alleged Rizvi.He said the party will form human chains across the country on Friday demanding an immediate end to the persecution of Rohingya Muslims and demanding Bangladesh government provide Rohingyas shelter in the country.The BNP leader also alleged that police are making BNP activists disappear.
